Pier Productions, Inc. was hired by i.d.e.a.s. entertainment to shoot promo footage of the Starfighters F-104 demo team. The shoots, one at Cape Canaveral, and one at the MacDill Air Force base in Tampa, Florida, were highly complex and difficult. High level security clearance enabled the crew unprecedented access to the pilots and the aircraft before, during and after their performance and missions. The footage was taken back to i.d.e.a.s. and edited into a promo for the team.
Starfighters is the World’s only supersonic, civilian jet demonstration team and at the MacDill shoot, we captured the first ever use of three F-104 jets in demonstration. Starfighters is actively & routinely engaged with NASA & the FAA’s AST division for development & training for future commercial space travel.
