Pier Productions, Inc. was recently invited to enter a contest to create a music video for county duo Brooks & Dunn’s song “Tequila” from their latest album, Cowboy Town. The contest was brought to the Nashville based internet video company, StudioNow by artist management company, Spalding Entertainment. Contestants were by invitation only and Pier Productions was one of the companies invited to participate.
The deadline of 1 week and 2 days was tight and of course we set the bar high for ourselves. With help from 2-D animator, Bob Duane (Funny Business Studio) and 3-D artist, Patrick Schultz we created a world where 2 tequila worms come to life, struggle with “bad guy” worms, a car chase ensues and ultimately the good guys prevail and live happily ever after. Ok, it sounds, well different, when you read it here but it’s a fun song and required a little thinking out of the box. After, several late nights for all of us we made the dealine and submitted the video. Now we wait. Whatever the outcome of the contest the project was great fun and definitely a learning experience.
